Liturgy, Sacraments and Devotions

St. Benedict wrote in Rule for Monks that “Nothing is to be preferred to the Work of God.” At St. Gregory’s University, we affirm the Eucharist as the source and the summit of the Christian life (Sacrosantum Concilium).

Mass is offered daily in the Abbey Church, with additional Masses for our students on Wednesday and Sunday evenings. Additionally, the Blessed Sacrament is on reserve and is available to our students 24 hours a day in St. Benedict chapel, which is located between the men’s and women’s residence halls.

We encourage frequent reception of the sacraments. Reconciliation is scheduled at regular times and may be scheduled by appointment. Devotions nourish public witness and personal holiness in the lives of the faithful. Weekly Adoration, the Rosary, Stations of the Cross and novenas are but a few of the ways our students grow in their relationships with God.
