The goal of Campus Ministry is to promote the spiritual growth of all students at St. Gregory’s University. There are various programs and activities which help students in their walk with Christ. Campus Ministry Programs and services include: Sacraments, Spirituality, and Social Justice and Outreach.

| Several Student Organizations work with Campus Ministry in promoting the spiritual growth of students, including the Buckley Outreach Team, Knights of Columbus, Kappa Phi Omega Catholic Sorority, and the Pro-Life Team.

| Spirituality and Catechesis (OCSC & NET Pictures) |
Spirituality and Catechesis is promoted on campus through opportunities for prayer, a weekly Bible Study, Green Giant Catechism Series, Eucharistic Adoration and Rosary devotions, PB & J with C.S. Lewis Lunch Discussion Group. Several priests are invited to campus during the year to talk on various spiritual topics from Apostolic Succession to the Virgin Mary, Praise & Worship and retreats. Several speakers are invited to campus during the year to talk on spiritual subjects including pro-life, monastic life, and liturgy. RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation) Classes are offered to those interested in learning more about and/or converting to the Catholic faith. Vocational discernment is provided through the OPUS program, Spiritual Direction, Nun Runs, and seminars on married life and parenting.

Students are encouraged to translate faith into action through service opportunities. Activities may include the Alternative Spring Break Trip for Habitat for Humanity, food and clothing drives, and Project Snowflake. Students participate in activities which affect the SGU community, the larger community of Shawnee, the state, nation, church, and world.

Student Organizations

| Buckley Team |
The Buckley Team is a group of St. Gregory’s University students who, trained in Catholic teachings and practices conduct retreats for junior and senior high youth. Members meet Monday nights to plan and practice retreats. The group works on team building and development as well as individual spirituality. The team provides approximately 20 retreats each year in the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City, Dioceses of Tulsa and the Diocese of Little Rock. Interested students must apply for a position on the team and be selected. Those students selected are awarded a scholarship for their participation.

| Knights of Columbus |
The Knights of Columbus is the largest Catholic laymen group in the United States. It is an active Catholic organization which helps direct students’ efforts into effective, positive worthwhile activities. The organization is for males age 18 and over who are of the Catholic faith and are interests in contributing to worthwhile religious, educational and social activities in the community.

| Kappa Phi Omega Catholic Sorority |
Catholic Daughters of America is an organization for Catholic women which enhances spiritual life, supports the churches’ teachings and participates in service projects and leadership workshops. Sixteen young women were initiated into the first class of the St. Scholastica Council of the Catholic Daughters of America at St. Gregory’s University in the Fall of 2008.

| Pro-Life Team (Pro-Life Activity Pictures) |
The Pro-Life Team is an organization of students who promote the right to life for all individuals from conception to old age. The group sponsors and supports activities which deal with civil and human rights of the unborn, the defenseless, the aged, the disadvantaged and all human life.
