Dear Prospective Student:

We sincerely appreciate your interest in St. Gregory’s University. We are a Catholic, four-year liberal arts school founded in 1875, and the oldest institution of higher education in Oklahoma.

Nestled in Shawnee, Oklahoma, a safe town of approximately 30,000 residents, SGU is within 35 miles of the state’s capital, Oklahoma City, and a 40-minute drive from Will Rogers World Airport. The 75-acre campus is surrounded by the 640-acre property of St. Gregory’s Abbey. It consists of 14 buildings including (among others) a recreational complex with an indoor pool, running track, racquetball courts, varsity and intramural field houses, weight room, sauna, and hot tub.

The Mabee-Gerrer Museum of Art is located on campus. The museum’s permanent collections include Egyptian, Greek and Roman objects, art from the Middle Ages, Renaissance art, and modern art. The museum has large holdings of Native American, African/Oceanic and Eastern cultural artifacts.

St. Gregory’s University offers bachelor’s degrees in:

• Business: accounting, business, finance, information system management, management, and marketing
• Social Science: communication studies, criminal justice, elementary education, political science, psychology, social science, and social studies education
• Humanities: dance, English, English education, history, liberal arts, philosophy, theatre, and visual arts
• Natural Science: biology, biomedical sciences, exercise science, fitness and health promotion, life science/biology education, mathematics, mathematics education
• Theology

SGU was recently recognized by the Cardinal Newman Society as being among the top 10 percent of Catholic colleges in the U.S., and has been featured in such publications as Our Sunday Visitor, the National Catholic Register, and the Catholic World Report.

SGU lives out its values through its programs. SGU also takes pride in its one-to-one learning environment, boasting one of the region’s best student-to-faculty ratios. We have one professor for every nine students, which allows for small classes and personal attention.

Please visit our website at www.stgregorys.edu and feel free to contact me if you have any questions.  We look forward to seeing you on our campus!
