Registration
All students (residential and commuter) having a vehicle at SGU are required to register with the Security Department. The vehicle's sticker number, license plate number, year, make, model, and description must be on file with the Security Department. All students parking a car on campus are required to obtain a SGU parking decal ($15.00). Failure to have an SGU decal can result in the vehicle being towed at the owner's expense.
Parking
Parking for resident students is available in the "student- only" lot immediately west of the residence hall complex. The west side of the mound by the Mabee Aerobic Center and south of the W.P. Wood Field House are open parking. Students should park vehicles in accordance with the road markings and parking signs. Violators are subject to receive a fine 24-hours a day, seven days a week. Temporary parking stickers are available from the Security Department. Some of the parking lots have cameras recording.
Speed Limits
The parking lot speed limit is 10 mph; the speed limit on campus roads is 25 mph. The road north of the residence halls (to the cafeteria/abbey area) is for authorized vehicles only. All vehicles are to remain on designated roadways at all times. Drivers should use caution during evening hours as people often stroll and jog on or near the roadways.
Citations
Students wishing to protest a citation must obtain an appeal form from the Business Office. Completed appeals must be turned in to the Business Office within five working days of the receipt of the ticket. All tickets will be placed on the student's account. (Note: students allowing others to use their vehicles are liable for their account).
