Araceli Flores Crowned St. Gregory's Miss HASA
The Hispanic American Student Association (HASA) at St. Gregory’s University crowned Araceli Flores as 2014 Miss HASA SGU at the third annual pageant held on Monday, Feb. 24.
Contestants competed in a series of events that included a personal introduction, modeling contemporary clothing, a talent portion, an impromptu question and answer session and finally, explaining why they wanted to be Miss HASA.
As the 2013 Miss HASA Catalina Melo passed her title to Flores, Flores said she hopes her role as Miss HASA will give her the chance to encourage other students at St. Gregory’s to join the HASA organization.
“My friends really helped me get involved with HASA and encouraged me to participate in the Miss HASA Pageant,” Flores said. “I’m excited to be able to share my Hispanic culture and values while representing HASA at St. Gregory’s and in the community.”

“I’m happy to see how this pageant has worked out for the HASA organization and to see how much it has grown in the last three years,” said Weigel. “Araceli kept her professionalism throughout the entire contest. She has a vibrant and cheerful personality that will benefit HASA and St. Gregory’s. It was also great to see her family in the crowd supporting her.”
