Mabee-Gerrer Museum of Art Bringing Russia to Oklahoma
This latest edition of the annual event that began in 1982 will whisk attendees away to a whimsical land inspired by the folk tales and dreamy imagery of Russian lacquer boxes.
Festivities will include wine, hors d’oeuvres, dinner and both a live and silent auction, as well as musical entertainment.
Organized by volunteers and made possible by generous community and individual sponsorships, all of the proceeds from the gala will support the MGMoA’s education programs, including scholarship funds for field trips and classes that benefit more than 10,000 students each year.
Founded in 1919, the Mabee-Gerrer Museum of Art is one of the oldest museums in the state of Oklahoma. The museum’s permanent collections include Egyptian, Greek and Roman objects, art from the Renaissance through the early 20th century and large holdings of Native American African/Oceanic and Eastern cultural artifacts. In addition, the museum offers a number of special exhibitions throughout the year.
Gala tickets are $125 each and can be reserved by visiting https://mgmoa.wufoo.com/forms/2013-annual-gala/. Seating is limited. Formal dress is optional.
