St. Gregory’s announces James York as new Vice President of Development
St. Gregory’s University recently welcomed James York as its new Vice President of Development. York is a 1972 graduate of St. Gregory’s College and the owner of a successful insurance business in Ada, Okla.
“Jim brings with him a wealth of experience from the insurance industry that will be of great value to the Development department, particularly as we look forward at our strategic plan and the gifts we will need to make it happen,” St. Gregory’s President D. Gregory Main said. “Being an alum of St. Gregory’s brings an additional value add as we continue to grow our alumni program and become better and better at reaching out to our former students.”
York, who began his position on February 1, leads a newly reorganized development office solely devoted to fund raising, alumni and donor relations. He will also coordinate ongoing annual fund campaigns, such as the Cavalier Club and St. Gregory’s Leadership Circle.
“I believe what people will truly gravitate towards with Jim is his passion for the university and the mission it seeks to fulfill,” Main added. “He knows the impact first hand of how giving to St. Gregory’s can benefit current and future generations of Cavaliers.”
Giving back to the school that gave so much to him is one of the main reasons York decided to accept this new role.
“St. Gregory’s has always had a special place in my heart, and I knew I wanted to give back in some way,” York said. “When this opportunity arose, I knew I couldn’t turn down the chance to serve and experience the University’s growth first hand.”
