St. Gregory’s Department of Education hosted a workshop on June 14 for Early Head start teachers in Cleveland, Comanche, Pottawattamie and Cleveland counties. Approximately 50 teachers attended the training, including faculty and teacher candidates from SGU.

St. Gregory’s University has reached a milestone in the restoration of historic Benedictine Hall with the installation of new southeastern and a southwestern turrets. The building lost its four “crowning towers” to earthquake damage in November 2011.
The Leaders of the Catholic Church of Oklahoma took the first step in becoming official sponsors of St. Gregory’s University Friday during a signing ceremony on the school’s Shawnee campus.

In the name of the whole Board of Directors of St. Gregory’s University, it is an honor to be here with you on this great day. Commencement, as you commence your lives with a degree from St. Gregory’s, is a proper day to celebrate.
On May 6, 1913, Bishop Theophile Meerschart placed and blessed the cornerstone of historic Benedictine Hall.
St. Gregory’s University and the State of Oklahoma Office of Personnel Management have signed an agreement that will give government employees college credit for earning professional certifications on the job.
St. Gregory’s University students and faculty embraced the spirit of the Middle Ages April 5-7 at the 2013 Medieval Fair in Norman, Okla., marking the seventh consecutive year of the SGU Educational Display and Hands-On Art Tent.
An estimated crowd of 365,000 people attended the event, with many visiting the SGU tent and Medieval History display, and almost 200 children were photographed in the doorways and windows of St. Gregory’s Wee Castle.
A total of 64 St. Gregory’s University students earned honor roll placement for their academic performance during the Fall 2012 semester. Twenty-eight students earned a place on the President’s Honor Roll for having a perfect grade point average of 4.00 in their studies last fall. Another 36 students earned placement on the Dean’s Honor Roll for having a grade point average of 3.50 to 3.99
St. Gregory’s University has been named a Certified Healthy Campus by the Oklahoma State Department of Health. The certifications were presented to St. Gregory’s at an awards luncheon Feb. 28 at the Cox Convention Center Central Ballroom in Oklahoma City.
The certification was earned as part of the state’s “Shape Your Future” campaign, which created the Certified Healthy program to recognize communities and schools that promote wellness, encourage the adoption of healthy behaviors and establish safe and supportive environments.
