The Delta Omicron Omega sorority at St. Gregory’s University has been hard at work with their community service projects, both on campus and off. Recently, the sorority participated in the Krouch Early Childhood back pack program for their off campus community service project.
St. Gregory’s University signed a new agreement with Oklahoma Aviation on Wednesday, solidifying the pilot training option for the University’s new aviation program.
Under the updated contract, St. Gregory’s and Oklahoma Aviation will partner to offer a bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management that also includes an option to train and receive a professional pilot license.
St. Gregory’s University will host a free information session for individuals who are interested in earning an associate’s, bachelor’s or master’s degree through its College of Continuing Studies Adult Degree Program.
The College of Continuing Studies at St. Gregory’s offers flexible class schedules, personalized attention from start to finish and a faculty that is comprised of real world experts who provide a challenging Catholic Liberal Arts education to students.
On Monday, Nov. 10, Keenan English visited with St. Gregory’s University Aviation Management students to talk about career opportunities within the aviation industry, as well as the many hats he wears in his position as Assistant Airport Manager for the City of Shawnee.
“It was great having Keenan share his knowledge of airport operations with the class,” said Dr. David Brockway. “Our students are enriched by hearing the experiences of people like themselves who went through a university aviation program and are now working in the aerospace field.”
Elementary and middle level teachers from across Oklahoma came to St. Gregory’s University on November 5, 2014, to attend a half-day workshop with teacher candidates in preparation for the Robotics Workshop and Competition taking place on November 14-15.
St. Gregory’s University and the Oklahoma Blood Institute will be hosting a community blood drive Tuesday, Nov. 18 from 12 p.m. - 5 p.m. in the Great Room of the Rockwood Center on St. Gregory’s Shawnee campus.
Each donor will receive a t-shirt, health screening and Donor Rewards points, which are redeemable for items in OBI’s online store. Donors also have the option to forgo receiving a t-shirt to help donate to the Global Blood Fund (GBF), which helps support struggling blood centers around the world.
The Aviation Management program at St. Gregory’s University has reached a new milestone with its recent membership with the Aviation Accreditation Board International (AABI), which serves as the national accrediting body for all collegiate aviation programs and advances the quality aviation education worldwide.
Ramah (Ramie) Nation, MHRM, has been named the new Registrar at St. Gregory’s University.
Nation brings 11 years of experience working in higher education, beginning in admissions for Oklahoma City University, which was her undergraduate alma mater. Throughout the years, she has held positions in several different departments including outreach, academic advising and the Registrar’s Office. In her most recent position before coming to St. Gregory’s, Nation served as the Registrar for Brown Mackie College in Oklahoma City.
St. Gregory’s University will celebrate its homecoming this weekend, with several family-friendly events open to the community, including a free carnival on the lawn in front of Benedictine Hall.
Children of all ages are invited to attend this year’s Student Carnival, which will feature inflatables, a rock wall, carnival-style games and art activities. The carnival will take from 2 – 4 p.m.
St. Gregory’s University will host a free information session for those interested in learning more about the new RN to BSN Degree Completion program. The Catholic liberal arts curriculum emphasizes the spiritual and holistic aspects of nursing and offers a unique opportunity for career advancement.
