Charles shows his devotion to the mission and students of St. Gregory's nearly every weekend as he travels to parishes around Oklahoma not only to substitute for pastors, but to solicit donations to the St. Gregory's University Catholic scholarship fund. Along with his assignments in the educational work of St. Gregory's Abbey, Fr. Charles has served in the monastic community as vocation director, assisting those who are discerning whether or not God is calling them to live the monastic life in our community, and speaking to various groups on the nature of discernment and the monastic life.

He has also served as the subprior, prior, formation director of the community and numerous times on the Abbey Senior Council. A talented musician, Fr. Charles plays the guitar and is one of the cantors for the monastery. He is a member of the St. Gregory's University Board of Directors. Among his hobbies are the care of houseplants and puzzles of all kinds.
